Thirty kilometers eastward on Kathmandu-Lhasa highway lies a medieval town of Dhulikhel. The core of the town area is built in Newari traditional brick and mud houses and the outlying slopes of this beautiful hillock are dotted with modern resorts catering to adventure seeking tourists and weekend gateaway locals. Dhulikhel opened its door to tourists in the early eighties and it is the destination of choice for many to see the beautiful central and eastern Himalayan ranges. On a perfect day, one could see Annapurna range in the west to the Mt. Karolung in the Far East.

Dhulikhel Lodge Resort was established in 1993 with just 12 rooms. Today it has 54 standard rooms with modern amenities. All the rooms have attached bath with 24-hour hot and cold showers. To cater to diverse group of visitors, it runs four restaurants. The resort has full conferencing facilities with audio and visual equipment.

Making the resort as a base, one can venture out to the surrounding areas for hiking, cycling and other adventure sports such as river rafting and canyoning. Many popular trekking routes either start or end in Dhulikhel. It has become synonymous with adventure sport venue. Many come to Dhulikhel to fulfill their adventure pursuit but others come here simply to be with nature and rediscover themselves.  Keeping these needs of customer in mind, the resort runs a meditation and spa centre which specializes in healing therapies.
