To indicate the comparative exertion or the level of challenge that our tours or treks present physically, each trip has been rated on a scale of 1-6, where 6 is the most physically challenging. There are various reasons that affect the level of difficulty of any particular trip which include factors like duration, type of activity, accommodation, transfers, altitude, terrain, remoteness and climate. While some factors can be regulated and vary, the rating is to asses a trip and provide only an estimate or indication. The ratings may vary depending on your own preferences, physical or mental ability and experience. This rating should only be considered a guideline and is intended to give you a general indication of the participation required.

Calm/Leisurely/Easy/Soft

This trip does not involve more than 1-2 hours of physical activity at a given day. Sightseeing might mean walking not more than 2 hours and does not involve climbing up more than 30 stairs. This trip will be operated at zero to 1,300 meters and has been graded for less than 5 days of walk.

These trips are suitable for those who are new to adventure travel and do not exercise regularly. Walking of 2-3 hours at a given day and climbing up to 50 stairs could be required. This might involve walking 2-3 miles a day and the trip will be operated at about 0-3,000 meters. in altitude.

This trip could be a physically difficult in Himalayan conditions especially for senior citizens. This might involve walking at least 3-4 miles on uneven terrains and the walk might last for at least 3 hours on any given day. The trip could be operated in between 3000-4000 meters.

The trip requires walking uphill and on uneven terrains for about 4-6 hours. Some amount of physical endurance is required for make this trip. This trip will involve walking in altitudes ranging between 4000-4,500 meters.

One must be reasonably fit to take this trip. Additional endurance exercise and cardio regimen is recommended. There are typically 5 to 7 hours of activity on most days at higher altitudes. Travelers should be able to climb 100 or more stairs consecutively at altitudes ranging from 4,000-5500m

These trips require a very high degree of fitness and could involve many days of trekking at high altitudes. Higher level of physical endurance is required to make this trip and could involve 5-8 hours of walking every day at altitudes of 5000 meters or more.
